InstructorsEric Berthold – GuitarEric has been playing guitar for over 20 years and teaching for about 15. He studied privately with Charles Woods and attended The Fine Arts Center in Greenville. He later attended Winthrop University in Rock Hill. Eric is a working musician and is currently in 2 bands; Alan Barrington Band which features folk blues and Bote which features Irish music. Kevin Styles – Brass, Beginner on any Instrument Kevin is a diverse teacher. He has a Masters degree in Music Education from Converse College and a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Furman University. Brass instruments are his primary, but can teach just about any instrument. He is currently the Band Director for Riverside Middle School and has been Band/Chorus or General Music teacher for the Greenville County schools for over 17 years. Margret Ann Swasey – Piano Mrs. Swasey has been teaching music and piano both privately and in the public schools for over 30 years. After six years of advanced studies, she graduated from New York University with degrees in Piano and Music Education. She was a member of the Piano Teacher’s Congress in New York City and was twice elected by her peers to be President of the New Jersey Professional Music Teachers Guild. She has years of experience in performing publicly and has recently published a CD. Mrs. Swasey has sung in her church choir and led church musical groups and remains an active member of her church. Mark Eshenbaugh – Guitar, Bass and Voice Mark has been singing and playing guitar since the age of 7 and playing bass and drums since the age of 13. He attended Greer High School where he joined the marching band playing electric bass and Greenville County’s Fine Arts Center where he studied music theory and voice. Mark attended Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ with a major in music education and is currently attending North Greenville College. Matthew Burgos – Drums Matt has several years of private instruction as well as a former member of the award winning Greer High percussion ensemble. Matt is an active musician who performs both live at numerous local and regional music venues as well as studio work. He has extensive knowledge of current music trends and styles. Eleanor “Lee” Russ – Voice and Piano Lee has extensive experience working with children as well as adults. She was the Choir Director at Grace United Methodist Church in Pickens and Harris United Methodist Church. She was the Youth Director at Lowell Street United Methodist Church in Greenwood, Children and Youth Music Director at Epworth Children’s Day Camp as well as internships at Ninety Six High School and Edgewood Middle Schools. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Lander University. Teresa Addison – Viola, Violin and Cello Teresa is a graduate of Blue Ridge High School in Greer and was a member of their award winning Strings Ensemble. She has extensive experience teaching stringed instruments. Teresa attended the University of South Carolina Upstate and is currently studying at Greenville Technical College. |
